Vinos de la
Tierra
It was the first recognized appellation in Castilla y León Region; Verdejo variety gives a unique personality to its wines.
Verdejo origins date back to the 11th century, when the basin of the river Duero was repopulated with people from Cantabria, the Basque Country and the Muslim Southern regions. Very probably the so-called Mozarabs (mozárabes, Iberian Christians who lived under Arab Islamic rules) brought the variety from North Africa.
The resulting wines have unique flavors, with rich fruity expression, a hint of scrub herbs, an excellent level of acidity and a special, elegant bitter touch.
